4. Children's privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13 without the permission required by law.

Adults must create and manage all accounts. A parent, guardian, or other adult purchaser may provide a child's name for personalization and fulfillment.

If a child is featured in a photograph, challenge entry, testimonial, or similar submission, the material must be submitted or approved by the child's parent or legal guardian.

If you believe a child sent us personal information without appropriate adult permission, contact us at dearemilymails@gmail.com. We will review the request and delete the information when required.

5. When we share information

We do not sell personal information.

We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We may provide information to companies that help us operate our business, including:

  • Payment processors
  • Website, database, and account-service providers
  • Email-delivery providers
  • File-storage and digital-content providers
  • Postal services and shipping carriers
  • Address-verification providers
  • Customer-support providers
  • Security and fraud-prevention providers
  • Analytics providers, if enabled
  • Professional advisers such as accountants, insurers, or attorneys

These providers receive only the information reasonably needed to perform their services.

For example:

  • A payment processor receives the information needed to process your payment.
  • A postal carrier receives the name and address needed to deliver your order.
  • An email provider receives your email address so we can send account or order notices.

We may also disclose information when:

  • The law requires it
  • We receive a valid legal request
  • It is needed to prevent fraud, abuse, or a security problem
  • It is needed to protect someone's safety or legal rights

6. Cookies and similar technology

Cookies are small files that help a website remember information.

We may use necessary cookies to:

  • Keep you signed in
  • Maintain your cart
  • Remember account and checkout selections
  • Protect the website
  • Process payments
  • Save privacy preferences

Necessary cookies are required for important website functions.

If we use optional analytics or similar cookies, visitors will be given any choices required by applicable law. You can also adjust cookie settings through your browser, but blocking necessary cookies may prevent parts of the website from working.

We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles about children.

7. Email

We may send service-related emails about:

  • Your account
  • Your membership
  • Payments and renewals
  • Orders
  • Shipping
  • Companion-edition access
  • Important policy or service changes

These messages are needed to provide the service you requested.

If you sign up for promotional emails, you can unsubscribe using the link included in the email. Unsubscribing from marketing will not stop necessary account, order, or membership messages.

8. Companion pages and downloads

When you claim or open a companion edition, we may record:

  • Your account
  • The edition claimed
  • Whether your account is eligible
  • The date access was granted
  • Download or access activity needed to enforce a one-time download
  • Basic security information

We use this information to provide access, prevent unauthorized sharing, and keep a record of the editions in My Editions.

An edition code alone does not provide access. We also verify that the signed-in account has a qualifying membership, mailing record, or purchase for that edition.

9. Photographs and other submissions

If you voluntarily submit a photograph, artwork, testimonial, message, or challenge entry, we will use it for the purpose explained when you submit it.

We will ask for any additional permission needed before publicly featuring a submission involving a minor.

Please do not submit information or images of another person unless you have permission to do so.

Promotion or submission forms may include additional privacy information specific to that activity.

10. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed to:

  • Provide your membership or order
  • Maintain your account
  • Provide access to claimed editions
  • Respond to questions or disputes
  • Keep required tax and business records
  • Prevent fraud
  • Meet legal requirements

Some transaction records may need to be kept after an account is closed.

When information is no longer needed, we will delete it, anonymize it, or securely store it until deletion is possible.

11. How we protect information

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal information.

These measures may include:

  • Account authentication
  • Access controls
  • Secure connections
  • Limited administrative access
  • Payment processing through a specialized payment provider
  • Temporary or signed links for protected digital content

No website or storage system can guarantee complete security. Please use a strong password and do not share your account credentials.

If you believe your account has been accessed without permission, contact us promptly.

  • Provide a copy of your information
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete certain information

To make a request, email dearemilymails@gmail.com with the subject line Privacy Request.

You will not be treated differently for making a privacy request.

13. California privacy information

California residents may have privacy rights under California law, including rights to know, correct, or delete personal information and to opt out of certain selling or sharing.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

If California privacy law applies to your request, we will handle it as required by that law. You may contact us at dearemilymails@gmail.com.

14. International customers

We are based in the United States. If you live outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Privacy laws in the United States may be different from those where you live.

When required, we process information because:

  • It is needed to provide the product, membership, or service you requested
  • You gave us permission
